Mitch McConnell is really climbing up the ranks as one of the most hated Republicans.
He’s even giving Mitt Romney a run for his money.
Especially following the latest impeachment failure, where McConnell still stood firm on Trump’s guilt and vowed that he still isn’t cleared of any wrongdoings.
Trump, of course, expertly shredded McConnell for this hysterical outburst.
“Mitch is a dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack, and if Republican Senators are going to stay with him, they will not win again,” the social media impotent Trump said in a statement Tuesday via his Save America PAC.
“He will never do what needs to be done, or what is right for our Country,” Trump went on to offer in a verbal roundhouse punch. “Where necessary and appropriate, I will back primary rivals who espouse Making America Great Again and our policy of America First. We want brilliant, strong, thoughtful, and compassionate leadership.”
For quite a while McConnell has held back a response to Trump’s rebuttal, but now he’s come forward with this pathetic reaction and new “plan” to handle President Trump – and his plan includes never uttering his name again.
Is this Jr. High school?
If Mitch thinks this will save him, he’s smoking crack with Hunter.
But according to a new report, McConnell’s “instant reaction” to the attack was laughter.
CNN chief congressional correspondent Manu Raju reported Wednesday that McConnell not only laughed in reaction to Trump’s criticisms, sources close to the minority leader say he has no plans to acknowledge the message or its author.
“You probably are not going to hear him utter the name Donald Trump ever again,” one source told the outlet. “He’s moving on.”
Prior to Trump’s lengthy rebuke, McConnell delivered a few public criticisms of the former president following the Senate’s second acquittal of Trump in a year. Although the Kentucky Republican voted against conviction on constitutional grounds, he sought to make it clear that he felt Trump’s actions played a significant role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters.
Go on McConnell, laugh it up.
You’ve already dug your political grave and now it’s time to lie in it.
