Wednesday, President Trump shared a article from DailyMail titled “Trump allies slam Mitch McConnell for congratulating Biden.”
Trump then offered a specific message to the Senate Majority Leader – “Too soon to give up. Republican Party must finally learn to fight. People are angry!”

Tuesday, Mitch McConnell congratulated Joe Biden as “President-elect” for the first time.
“Yesterday electors met in all 50 states, so, as of this morning, our country has officially a President-elect and a Vice President-elect…” McConnell said.
“The Electoral College has spoken. So today I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden,” he continued.

McConnell as well as Senators John Thune and Roy Blunt have reportedly also urged their party to accept Joe Biden as the Presidential election winner.
Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, a West Virginia Republican who was on a conference call with fellow Republicans said “there was encouragement on the phone for us to accept the result, as much as it’s not what we would have envisioned for the next four years, and to try to do what’s best for the American people, which is to look forward.”
In regards to objecting to the electoral college vote results, per Alayna Treene, a source on the call said McConnell told the conference: “I hope there’s zero sentiment for it.”
Thune said: “It would be great if there were no members that took up that issue”
